About This Project

The weekend works involved a comprehensive upgrade of the existing high-voltage (HV) switchgear system. The previous HV switches were outdated and could not be operated due to an electrical switching embargo, necessitating a full replacement.

What We Did

Scope of Work

• Decommissioning: Disconnected and removed the old switchgear units.
• Environmental Compliance: Drained and safely disposed of insulating oil in accordance with regulations.
• Installation:
  • Installed a new busbar end box.
  • Fitted two Schneider SF6 CE2 switches along with all associated linking bars and boots.
• Testing & Commissioning: Conducted full system testing and commissioning to ensure operational integrity and compliance.

Outcome
The upgrade restored full functionality to the HV system, improved reliability, and ensured compliance with modern safety and operational standards.
