LV Panel Upgrade
Date of Project: May 2026 Location: Redditch
About This Project
Replaced a failing LV panel with a new 800a distribution panel
What We Did
Overview
A commercial client required the replacement of a failed electrical distribution panel that was no longer reliable and posed operational risks. To restore safe and dependable power distribution, we were appointed to carry out a full panel upgrade, including coordination of a controlled isolation with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
Objectives
- Safely remove the existing failed electrical panel
- Install a new, high-capacity 800A distribution panel
- Ensure compliant protection with appropriate outgoing ways
- Minimise disruption to the client’s operations during the works
- Deliver a fully tested and commissioned system ready for use
Work Completed
- Co-ordinated a controlled DNO isolation (typically an additional cost of approximately £850) to allow safe disconnection of the incoming supply
- Removed and disposed of the existing failed panel
- Installed a new 800A panel complete with:
- Reterminated existing cables, extending them where necessary to suit the new installation
- Carried out all required earthing works in line with current regulations
- Completed full testing, inspection, and commissioning
Outcome
The project was successfully delivered within the planned shutdown period, ensuring minimal disruption to the client. The new panel provides improved reliability, enhanced safety, and greater electrical capacity to support the client’s ongoing operations.
Customer Benefit
- Increased system reliability and reduced risk of future failures
- Improved electrical safety and regulatory compliance
- Greater capacity to support current and future demands
- Minimal operational downtime due to efficient project execution
- Confidence in a fully tested and professionally commissioned installation
