Project Overview

This project involved the installation and termination of low voltage (LV) power cables for a new electrical distribution system. The scope included routing multiple LV cables from the main distribution boards (MDBs) to associated panels, ensuring compliance with safety standards and optimal performance.

The customer required a robust LV cabling solution to support critical electrical infrastructure. The installation needed to meet stringent quality standards, minimize downtime, and ensure future scalability.

Our Approach

Our team executed the project in several key stages:

1. Planning and Design

   • Detailed cable routing plans were developed to optimize space and maintain accessibility.
   • Cable trays and support systems were installed to ensure proper segregation and mechanical protection.

2. Cable Installation

   • Heavy-duty LV cables were carefully laid on galvanized steel cable trays.
   • Cables were securely fastened using high-quality ties and clamps to prevent movement and maintain neatness.
   • Special attention was given to bending radii and alignment to avoid stress on conductors.

3. Termination

   • Cables were stripped, prepared, and terminated into the LV panels using precision tools.
   • All terminations were torque-tested to manufacturer specifications for reliability.
   • Earth bonding and insulation checks were carried out to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.

4. Testing and Commissioning

   • Insulation resistance and continuity tests were performed.
   • Final checks ensured all connections were secure and panels were ready for energization.
